Dr Rusthi is the Founding Director of Passionate Fire and a seasoned fire engineer with over 15 years of experience spanning consultancy, research, and construction. He has worked across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, delivering fire safety strategies for a wide range of developments — including residential, childcare, aged care, sports complexes, industrial facilities, and mixed-use buildings.

Known for tackling complex fire engineering challenges, Dr Rusthi develops holistic, performance-based design solutions that address departures from prescriptive code requirements. His expertise includes structural fire engineering, fire dynamics modelling, and evacuation analysis, underpinned by proven scientific methodologies. As both a technical expert and a trusted leader, Dr Rusthi collaborates closely with stakeholders to deliver practical, efficient, and reliable fire safety solutions — always with a focus on enabling great design outcomes.

Kin Onn Mah

Senior Fire Engineering Consultant

Kin Onn is a Mechanical and Project Engineer with a strong passion for fire engineering. With over 10 years of experience in the construction and building services industry, he brings a well-rounded understanding of technical systems and project delivery. At Passionate Fire, Kin Onn leads our commercial and domestic project portfolios. He plays a key role in aligning fire safety engineering with client objectives, ensuring our solutions are both technically sound and practical.

In addition to his engineering responsibilities, Kin Onn also supports day-to-day operations, team coordination, and the smooth delivery of projects. He is known for his attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to delivering effective solutions to complex fire engineering challenges. His passion for the discipline drives his day-to-day work and reinforces our commitment to outstanding service and fire safety outcomes.

Sukhdeep Batra

Senior Fire Engineering Consultant

Sukhdeep holds a Bachelor of Engineering with a specialisation in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of Engineers Australia. With 6.5 years of experience in fire engineering, he brings a strong technical foundation and a fresh perspective to Passionate Fire. At Passionate Fire, Sukhdeep leads our Childcare, NDIS-SDA, and Residential project portfolios — areas where his thoughtful, people-first approach is already making a meaningful impact.

Sukhdeep is also working towards achieving Chartered status and is keen to grow into a business development role. His combination of technical expertise and client-focused mindset adds real value to both our projects and partnerships.
